NOTICE OF VACANCY

HUMAN RESOURCES TRAINING INTERN

                      ONE (1) YEAR CONTRACT

 

PUC Services Inc. operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply and delivery of electricity and drinking water, energy services and the treatment of water and wastewater.

Who is eligible?

A university or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university.  The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program.  The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.

You are the ideal candidate if you possess:

  • University or College Diploma in a Human Resources related field;
  • Professional designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or working towards completion of the designation;
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, with good working knowledge of Human Resources and/or Payroll Information Systems; 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in decisions regarding confidential matters, ability to work independently and to take initiative; and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong time management skills and ability to multi-task within deadlines.

As a Human Resources Training Intern, the primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Provide administrative and technical support in the following Human Resources training functions:
    • Communicate with internal and external vendors
    • Maintain employee training records
    • Assist in maintaining the training database
    • Manage training spreadsheets
    • Perform other office administrative operations as required
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Officer in coordinating, implementing and scheduling PUC Services’ training and development programs;
  • Identify Company training and development requirements in consultation with company managers and develop training plans;
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Safety and Environment on employee and management corporate and health & safety training;
  • Source and assess appropriate training resources and trainers to deliver cost effective, quality training;
  • Develop a training calendar; and
  • Update the PUC internal website.
